Barry was born to mother, Barbara who was a homemaker and father, Hugh who was a drummer. Barry Gibb joined ‘Braddan school’ in 1951, but was forced to leave when the family vacated Douglas. As a young boy , he later attended ‘Tynward infants school’ and ‘Desmesne Boys school’ before completing his education. In 1955, he became the founded a rock-and-roll band and named it ‘Rattlesnakes’. He used to perform along with Robin and Maurice and later on his neighbors Kenny and Paul Frost joined along. His major role became to play guitar for his band that used to perform songs by prominent artistes like Cliff Richards and Paul Anka. The group later disbanded in 1958 when Gibb’s family vacated their previous residence.

Songs such as ‘one road’ and ‘I was a lover’ rose their way into top charts in Australia before the band vacated and relocated to England in 1967. In the 1980s, Gibb aided his brothers into commercial success by helping them to release their singles. Later on in the 90s, he played the guitar for Lulu’s ‘Let me wake up in your arms’, and he later on went to fabricate singles and singing for the ‘Bees’ in albums such as ‘size isn’t everything’. When the Bees released their final album in 2001, Barry went ahead to ally Michael Jackson on his single named ‘All in your name’. In the 1950s, Gibb and his brothers had grown into fully fledged rowdy boys. As a young Manchester fan, Barry would find himself walking in the streets late at night and would get into trouble with police most of the times. Music was a key interest to him though since as he lacked the companionship of many friends although it wasn’t the only hobby that he knew. He had a thing for being cool, and this resulted to indulgence in shoplifting when he was as young as 12 years of age. Barry has had a solid influence on many people’s music careers and his impact can not be neglected.
