Tony Dow is not only and actor. Although Tony is best recognized for his role in the television series called Leave It to Beaver, he is not only an American actor but he is also a director, producer and a visual artist. Tony Dow was born in 1945, in Hollywood, California. One of his parents — his mother — also involved in acting and his father worked as a contractor but also as a designer. Growing up, Tony was interested in sports. Earlier in life, prior to his cinema career Tony Dow was a Junior Olympics champion meaning he was focused on his career as a diver. The shift to acting happened when Tony was cast for the role of Wally Cleaver on “Leave It to the Beaver”.

The series ran from 1957 through 1963, making Tony a television star. In the show Tony portrayed the role of Wallace, often called “Wally”, Cleaver. This role earned him an award in 1987 of a Former Child Star “Lifetime Achievement” Award from Young Artist Foundation. He appeared on this show until it ended and that was in 1963. The show “Leave it to the Beaver” definitely made Tony rich. Also, the show was a huge in the sixties. Tony Dow was chosen to play Wally Cleaver, oldest son of Ward Cleaver and June Cleaver. The character also had a brother Theodore Cleaver, nicknamed the Beaver. After that he went on to guest-star in various shows. Tony was honored for portrayal of Wally Cleaver with the award of Lifetime Achievement in 1987. He stared in “My Three Sons”, “Dr. Kildare”, “Never Too Young”. Although Tony enjoyed acting he took some time off to serve in the National Guard. That was in the late 60s to. After that he returned to acting, making him a star in projects such as “Adam-12″, “Love American Style’, “The Hardy Boys”, and “Emergency”. Tony then decided to return to school to study filmmaking and journalism. At the same time Dow worked as a constructor, the same as his father. After his studies Tony focused primarily on writing and directing. He also specialized in special effects.

Tony is known for writing and directing episodes of series “Coach”, as well as of such series as “Crusade”, and “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”. It is worth to mention that Dow served as a visual effects supervisor on “Babylon 5″. Although, when the show Babylon 5 ended, Tony Dow began working in other projects. He appeared in My Three Sons, The Greatest Show on Earth, Dr. Kildare, Love American Style, Never Too Young, The Mod Squad, Mr. Novak, Square Pegs, The Hardy Boys, Emergency!, Adam-12 and Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star. Tony is currently living with his wife Lauren Shulkind. They have been married for 33 years and they reside in Santa Monica Mountains. Tony Dow and Laura Shulkind together have a son named Christopher Dow. Tony Dow‘s net worth is estimated to be $4 million as of year 2017. It is safe to say that Tony has to grateful for his earning to his cinema career.
