I actually suspect that my friends who’ve privately vented their frustrations to me would actually be quite thrilled with their man being a good copilot. When they express frustration at a man who ‘doesn’t take charge’, it isn’t simply that women want the man in their lives to lead, but rather a reflection of their frustrations with his inability or unwillingness to adequately follow.
