Part of the reason why I talk about and now am writing about this kind of slippery subject of female visibility/invisibility is because, much like the infamous Madonna/whore dichotomy, it does not really matter what side of the coin you are on, it still kind of sucks.
Now You See Me, Now You Don't

It leaves a woman in a position where she can never win. Her worth and value are dictated by how many look her way. How many think she’s hot. When you no longer serve a purpose to the opposite sex, you are pushed aside.

I see this a lot in the dating scene. Whether it’s Craigslist or the plethora of dating sites and apps, I see men in our age group looking for a teenager or someone half their age. It’s not about the age, it’s about the perversion that goes along with the mentality of a man in his 40s looking for a young girl who’s 18–21.

It’s time to address it. We don’t because it opens a Pandora’s box of other shit that needs to be addressed. It a domino effect.
