When Fathers Fail
Oreoluwa Fakorede

Oreoluwa, Im obviously never going to be a father. But my 40 years on this planet has been missing the father component. Yes, it’s a huge hole. I don’t know if it can ever be filled.

My grandfather died a month before I was born. My mother and I nearly died in child birth. My father was around for the first 8 years. He’s over 70 and is still utterly clueless. But I accept it. I have to or else I’m going to live the next portion of my life in the same hell. No difference for my mom. They left gaping holes that can’t be filled.
