Is Miranda Lambert Trying To Stay Relevant?

Miranda Lambert, aka Mrs. Shelton is always at the top the charts in Country music. We all love her for how wholesome, real, and adorable she always is. She has always been a huge advocate of being yourself and being happy in your own skin. She never wanted to be stick thin or fake, just Miranda.

However, is the release of her new album ‘Platinum’ further proof of Miranda becoming mainstream to stay relevant? Has she let go of her wholesome country side to jump on board the “sex sells wagon” with every other aritst? Has she lost touch with her own beliefs? Her new music video was recently released and I couldn’t help but read the mixed feedback of what people had to say about her thin, smokin’ hot, new persona.

Miranda fans are split about whether she has abandoned the person she prides herself to be. On one hand, she lost weight took control and began leading a healthy lifestyle. She looks AMAZING, her career is better than ever, and with supportive hubby Blake Shelton, she is unstoppable. On the other hand, some may argue that with her drastic transformation, the Miranda we know and love began to become mainstream. Her new self is sexual, risk-ay and suggestive. This is not to say that she no longer posses the same talent, she absolutely does. Her new album is different, just like her, and some people aren’t into it.

Below is a comparison on an older Lambert video and her brand spankin’ new one. Watch them and see what you think:

Similarly, Taylor Swift changed her look and sound and many question if she remembers her country roots and crossed over into Pop music. Lambert is a T. Swift supporter, but is possible the same thing might happen to Miranda Lambert soon?

Miranda & Taylor Swift

Lambert said about Swift and her new album:

“I mean it doesn’t matter. I’m just proud of her for doing whatever art she wants to do. It’s gonna be successful, it’s Taylor Swift!” Adding, “She’s an amazing writer, so if she comes back tomorrow and says, ‘I’m gonna make a country record now,’ we’ll listen to that and buy it, too.”
