Riot 0.8.3 is here!

We’ve been working hard on tweaking things behind the scenes, and we’re pleased to announce that we’ve just released version 0.8.3 of Riot. This version comes with a better Room Directory that lets you join rooms on other networks by selecting the network from the dropdown and typing the name of the channel just as you would if you were connected directly to that network. You can also use this dropdown to filter the list of public rooms to just those on the network you’re interested in, or type in the box to search the public room list. If the room you want to join isn’t public, no problem, just type in the alias and hit enter to go straight there.

You can also access public room directories on other home servers by typing the name of that home server into the dropdown box, so those of you running your own home server can still view the room list from matrix.org, or any other server!

For the curious, the full changelogs are at https://github.com/vector-im/vector-web/blob/v0.8.3/CHANGELOG.md and https://github.com/matrix-org/matrix-react-sdk/blob/v0.7.4/CHANGELOG.md

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
