(Poetry) The Adamant Head Watchers

It's all for free
This misery
From people
Who sit on shrink's couches
For free
They come to me in lines
They slide me a dime
And I slide back an ear
To hear what troubles
Have sowed their heads
Into mushy little pieces of lead
I nod and hum and shake my head
My fingers have typed the same words a hundred times
It is the chemicals my darling
That make us want to jump into bridges
And trains
Our brains
They can't screw on straight
So we have to visit the shrink
At every bedside we greet
That underlying twitch
Stinks of an adolescent hitch
So I use my niche
Where I psychoanalyze
Every nonsense into a cute,

Boxed
Solution
This therapy isn't free
I soak it up with my sleeve
It's all for me
This misery

Nobody's up past 2 o'clock
Unless they want a session
With the best head-hammer
I can’t cure depression
But they never asked for glamour
So worries are dead-shocked
They ask me: who are you?
To give us free therapy?
These dimes, are they enough?
Will you be able to carry us?
Are your arms wide enough?
Where is that trust?
I soak it up with my tongue
As I sweet talk the barrel of a gun
A zip line isn't meant for tip toes, my dear
Life isn't meant for listening, they sneer
It's something I do
When the misery leaves
Because emptiness heaves
A faint breath for a faint heart

It is the chemicals my darling
That make us want to jump into bridges
And trains
Our brains
They can't screw on straight
So we have to visit the shrink
At every bedside we greet

So just think: before you call
That one person who listens
Does the person have anyone at all?
Will you build up the gall?
To ask them a question about their heart aches?
Their empty house? Why their hand shakes? Who pays the shrink their fees?
So think, next time
About the time you get for free
We'll be making revolutions in your sleep
Because you finally screwed your head in the "right way"
For conforming to a mentality
Of people with 9 to 5 paces
I didn't want to warn you
As this revenge is sweeter
Than any ill picked death
So I let it consume you

The realization
Intuition; a fatality

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
