What we’re proposing to do is to build bus pullouts, which place the bus stops outside the traffic lanes. That means cars can keep on going when the bus pulls over.

So let me get this straight. The Council made it explicitly illegal for ridesharing drivers to stop curbside to pick up riders (that was a major justification for fully revising Austin’s ridesharing regulations last December), but you propose that CapMetro should get spaces built just for them? That seems a little unfair.

Why not unify these proposed pull-outs along with our existing taxi zones as general-use Passenger Zones? Austin should provide everyone with plenty of safe places to hop into or hop out of whichever services they choose.
