Alex, thanks for all your efforts letting us know about it.

I have been in active correspondence with Sony Japan marketing/service dept. for awhile after Sony service asked for 18 000 JPY (half of the purchase price) for repair under warranty, and I can say I met such a humiliating corporate arrogance, the trade mark Japanese Polite Insolence, and refusal that I hardly ever experienced from any other companies. It’s not only humiliating but a totally silly corporate dominance over their customers as it causes them bigger material damage than repairing for free, not mentioning the damage to their reputation.
