To me , it depends on how much the reader’s interpretation deviates from the theme of the poem . There was an instance where I wrote a funny poem and one of the readers didn’t get the comedic references in the poem and thought it was a sad poem. I ended up feeling the way a stand-up comedian feels when he finishes his monologue and someone in the audience starts crying

But if the reader’s interpretation sticks to the theme of the poem then it is indeed an honour to have multiple interpretations :)
