What’s your favorite Thanksgiving food?Forty-three percent of us pick turkey as our favorite, while 18% say stuffing and 7% choose pie. And, don’t forget about the other goodies, like mashed potatoes, green beans and cranberries — you name it, and we love it!

Of course we look forward to the fully set table on Thanksgiving, but there’s also so many other traditions we love, like family time, football, and taking the time to say what we’re thankful for every year.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner (wait, wasn’t it just Halloween?), and we’re in the mood to celebrate this holiday. Before we put our turkey and pumpkin pie in the oven, we decided to dig into some Thanksgiving data to really get us prepared. Read on to learn more.

  • The average cost of a Thanksgiving dinner for 10-person family is around $49. We see that the price does rise year over year, but numbers have not been adjusted for inflation.
  • Turkey is the healthiest main dish served at 190 calories and six grams of fat per four slices.
  • Unfortunately, pecan pie is the least healthy dessert at 456 calories and 21 grams of fat per slice. (It’s Thanksgiving — one piece won’t hurt!)
  • The U.S. spends $2,875,000,000 annually on Thanksgiving dinner.
  • Meanwhile, the average turkey costs $1.15 per pound.
