Four stitches later

Monday night, the boys basketball team played Schalmont as part of Scotia’s annual holiday tournament. We beat Schalmont in an exciting game. It was particularly special because we had been on a two-game losing streak and Schalmont was previously undefeated. However, during the game something unforunate happened. As I was boxing out for a rebound, a Schalmont player knocked me over and then proceeded to step on the back of my head. The force from my head hitting off the floor caused me to bite a large part of my lip off. I actually thought it was my tooth because of how big the piece of my lip was. Needless to say, there was a lot of blood. However, I was able to return to the game after I changed into a clean uniform. After the game, with some encouragement from Coach Giff, I went to the emergency room to get my lip examined. After a long 2 and a half hours of mostly waiting around, I had 4 stitches put in my lip. My lip is now somehow bigger than it used to be, and I will probably have a scar. But hey, at least we beat Schalmont.
