Something is Different

Many people I have talked to have told me they feel like Christmas is different this year. I agree completely. I don’t feel like anything is drastically different, but something is off. To me, Christmas seems to be more commercial than ever. It seems that people are overcome with getting the perfect gift for everyone on their list. Don’t get me wrong, gifts are a great part of Christmas. But, that is not what it is truely about. To me, Christmas is about spending time with people you love. What happened to that? Where is the archetypal Christmas image of sitting around the fire with your family while drinking hot chocolate and listening to Christmas music? Maybe it’s just me and the few people I have talked to, but at some point Christmas changed, and it wasn’t for the better.
