Trying to separate fame and politics is fruitless. Unless you want to go the route of rule by a meritocracy or theocracy or plutocracy. Most of us would prefer a democracy, rule by the people; in which fame is often how we come to know one another. How, for what, and by whom one is deemed famous is really the issue here.
