“Excuse me, sir, can you take our picture?”

I was in the hot tub for a couple minutes, chilling peacefully in silence, until I was asked to take a picture of five older women.
“Sure, but I accept tips, ya know,” I said with a smile. They all laughed.
The lady who asked for a picture asked for my name.
Set open.
Though most of them had boyfriends, they were all so persistent to know more about me.
“Are you on Instagram? I want to give you photo credits,” the woman said.
“Uh…hm…do you want my personal page or business page?”
“Ooh, what’s your business?”
After everything I said, they grew a little more curious- maybe a little more attractive. But why? I wasn’t even trying. Why were these not-single, older women inviting me to meet them at the bar later tonight?
Because, I believe, I gave them a new perspective. After everything they asked, I didn’t just give them an answer, I said something a little left-field. “What’s the symbol on your necklace mean?” I playfully said it was her name in a Chinese character. “Why do you have band-aids on your hand?” I told her I get into bar fights and near-death experiences often because I like a little danger in my life.
This is what men do. We lead interactions. We keep conversations fresh, exciting, and intriguing.
Men give women a new way of seeing us, themselves, and the world.
