Esperanto: Interviews of creatives from all around the world
I’ve always been dreaming about travelling the world and explore different countries. But for as long as I can remember, I’ve also dreamed about having a good and fulfilling career. My two dreams have been fighting with each other quite a lot.
I recently made one of the hardest decisions of my life: exploring the world for the entire year of 2018.
I want to see what it’s like to go on an adventure. I want to learn about new cultures, meet new people, and learn about myself along the way. I’m not really a backpacker kind of guy, but I wanted to take on a new and exciting challenge.
It goes without saying that it was a tough decision to make. I had to leave behind a happy and comfortable life, put on hold a job that I love, and say goodbye to friends and family.
Even if this adventure already seems crazy, I wanted to make something special that could bring my two passions for design and travel together. That’s why I decided to create the Esperanto project.
Esperanto is a year long journey that put the spotlight on talented creatives from all over the world.
Hopefully, I’m gonna meet up with one creative for each country I’m exploring. I’ll ask them about their story, their job, and the design industry in their country in order to later create a website with one article per designer.
Why do you call it Esperanto, you weirdo?
Glad you asked! Esperanto is a language created by L. L. Zamenhof in the late 1870s with the goal of becoming the general world language. In fact, with this project, I want to show that we all speak the same language when it comes to design. I want to prove that everyone has an interesting story to tell wherever they come from. I want to show that we have more similarities that bring us together than differences that pull us apart. I want to put the spotlight on talents and design industries that are sometimes not well represented.
You know the best thing? It already started
I already met up with creatives in Sri Lanka, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Japan, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand.
