When I first heard of ICOs the other day, I assumed that people are buying ICOs so they get equity in return. But it seems to not be the case. This is foolish. Or am I missing something?

It’s great to be able to invest in an idea early and to be able to trade the coin you bought. But what value is being traded if it’s tied to equity?

And if the idea is that you would return exactly the funds that were invested, why would the value of a coin ever change?
