A couple days late, but here it goes. Still waiting on a particular stock to go up a little bit before paying off student loans, but it looks like that is going to happen this month.
Savings
Car down payment — goal $6000
December: $3750
January: $4000
February: $4250
$250/month. This may go up after we pay off student loans. The car buying articles posted here last week were very timely.
Emergency Fund — goal $6400
December: $3600
January: $3700
February: $4142
$100/month. No concrete goal on finishing this, but we’ll add extra to it every once in a while. The extra this month was money my partner’s dad transferred to us for picking up the tab at his 60th birthday party.
General Travel — Goal $infinity
December: $98
January: $266
February: $ -2746
$200/month + extra when we have it. This was doing just fine until we booked the JoCo cruise for next year. This will even itself out pretty soon, we had about $2000 left over from Japan that will go towards this, and probably tax return money.
Debt
Student Loans
December: $6726
January: ~$6300
February: $5876
$450/month. Once the stock we have in an employee stock purchasing plan goes up a little, we’ll pay this off, til then we’ll just leave the autopay doing it’s thing.
