As I live on a fixed income, it’s easy for me to avoid upgrade-itis. Instead, I pore over my camera’s manual until I all but have it memorized.

Once you’ve mastered your camera, so that all of its controls and functions have become almost instinct, then you’ll realize that gee, I don’t need that new $7000 body after all.

How does one become a writer? By writing. How does one become a photographer? By taking photographs.
