I used to work as a recreational vehicle service technician. Large motorhomes usually have a television set suspended from the ceiling at the front of the coach. There is a safety interlock that prevents the television from operating while the engine is turned on. This is for the very simple reason that the federal government doesn’t want the driver to be distracted while driving.

The most -often requested modification we were asked for was to disable the safety interlock. People got quite angry when we refused their requests.
