If there was a lack of quality developers, wouldn’t that show up in salary increases? So far, that hasn’t been the case. Could this just be a location issue in the Bay area?

One issue that comes up constantly is the lack of very specific skills. Many of those skills are quite new. It is obvious that few people would have a lot of experience with them, but industry likes to speak to that lack as something serious rather than help capable employees get that experience.
