Data Security and Your Privacy Rights in the Digital Age

The encryption debate is heating up. It’s obvious. But what isn’t obvious to everyone and what I want to make clear is that this isn’t a debate about privacy versus security. It’s a debate about choosing less security or choosing more security. And strong encryption is more security. That’s why I introduced the Secure Data Act that would ban government-mandated backdoors.

Today I spoke at CryptoSummit 2.0 and RightsCon organized by Access Now on encryption and the future of individual privacy rights in the rise of the “Internet of Things”. I wanted to share some of the highlights from the summit here. You can find all my remarks here.
