It’s no surprise after companies like Esurance are now being investigated for “over stimulating” consumers with more than the recommended amount of commercials. But there is no regulation how much a person can see the same ad in one day. So I began keeping track of only Youtube ads and found that in a 24 hour period I had seen the same Esurance commercial 18 times. In a week I had seen it 116 times. We don’t know how damaging watching a menial commercial that many times in a week is- but it can’t be healthy as it neither helps your brain or promotes new thought processes. I began to notice that in a short time span I was becoming physically sick of seeing the the same ad. I was literally ready to vomit my reaction was revolting. Some people believe that Youtube pays it’s bills by allowing advertisers to assault you- but that’s not the case. In fact most video authors have a choice in whether to allow Ads on their video to start with. Youtubers can even choose between insulting advertisements like Esurance or less imposing ads like Movie trailers for the next Marvel franchise. The catch is, if you have mercy on your subscribers by letting them watch movie trailers- you will get paid less money. So not surprisingly Youtube understands just how mind-numbingly brain washing certain advertisements are. If you want to know if my experiment has had any affect on which company I use for insurance? Absolutely! I decided I hate Esurance, so they actually lost a potential customer. An company willing to subject humans to that much attention leeching in one day can’t be honest nor ethical in my opinion. So please be aware of what tomorrow’s advertisers have planned for the war over your brain! Don’t give it to them willingly! Fight this advertisement madness while you still make your own decisions!
