100 days of uncomfortable things — day 64 — Cancel your plans and still have fun

I was all set to try line-dancing for the first time but for various reasons realised it would be better to stay home for the evening.

The realisation was accompanied by a sizeable dose of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out).

Going on adventures, exploring the world and experimenting with new things are all wonderful and highly recommendable. The fact is, though, we are going to miss out at times. When this happens, we can take comfort from knowing that the degree to which we enjoy an evening does not depend solely on the activity we choose.

It is also strongly influenced by our willingness to enjoy the evening, regardless of the circumstances.

I know this to be true, as do you. I can recall moments of fun, laughter and sharing while revising for exams, working tedious jobs and certainly during relaxed nights spent at home.

In other words, we can make the choice to make the most of wherever we are. We can do this anytime we like.

I know this to be true, yet I must remind myself of it often.

Apparently JOMO is the way to go these days. :)
