Thanks this is incredibly helpful! I’ve never used Instapaper (previously I used Pocket but it lacked many of the features I wanted) but it seems like Feedly for collection plus Instapaper for reading might actually get me most of the way to what I want! I use Notion as my ‘second-brain’ rather than Evernote — if you haven’t come across it I recommend taking a look.
I kept getting lots of questions about the scooter from friends, family, strangers, etc, so rather than constantly repeating myself I thought it would be easier to write up my thoughts and send them a link! I’m also a big fan of the idea of Personal Electric Vehicles so if the article helps spread the word to more people that’s great too.
It definitely uses more battery going uphill. I don’t need to charge mine in between getting to work (3 miles, ~400ft elevation) and coming home again (6 mile round trip), but I do need to charge it overnight. If your 500ft elevation is a gentle slope over a long distance, I think you would be fine. If it’s a steep slope you may end up giving it some extra manual kicks.
Very good point — Luckily I have bright pink hair and tend to wear ridiculously colorful clothes so I’m pretty visible, at least during the day. There’s a setting on the Xiaomi m365 app that makes the rear light stay on all the time which is worth turning on for visibility too.
It goes up gentle hills no problem, but I usually need to give it some extra manual effort to get up steep heels. It works fine on sidewalks but pedestrians might not like you and I’m not sure of the legality!
