Sunburnt?

Hello everyone!

Here in England, we don’t see the sun very often. Our summer is normally just winter. Rain, thunder…just not sun. However, we do have a couple of lovely days, days when the sun is shining, the sky is blue and my gosh its FLIPPING hot.

Being as pale as me, it’s a wonder that I don’t have ginger hair! I burn incredibly easy. I use factor 50 throughout our beautiful days here on Englands South East coast as factor 30 leaves me looking like this…

OUCHY

I’m not slating factor 30…I did only apply it once at 11am…and I was outside until about 7… I was in the shade but clearly not 100%…whoops.

As I’m sure you can imagine this is VERY sore and sleeping is very uncomfortable. So, I have been raiding my cupboards and thought I would show 5 skin care products that are AMAZING to use…so to all my pale friends…don’t worry, I have you covered!

So, as some of you may know, I am one sucker for LUSH. I order quite a few Butterballs throughout the summer as they have great soothing ingredients for dry skin, irritated skin and BOSH sunburnt skin. “Once the cocoa butter pieces have melted, your skin will be coated by a light buttery film that smells good enough to eat. Ylang ylang is used in aromatherapy to treat stress and depression, as well as relaxing the nervous system, and relieves anger, panic and fear.” So not only will it soothe your skin, it’ll relax you too. At £2.75 each, this bath bomb is definitley a summer necessity for us!

From Boots for only £5 (In Tesco it’s £6) you get this massive tub of HAWAIIAN TROPIC. This after sun body butter is lovely and thick. As you can see on the tub it is ‘enriched with coconut oil, shea butter & avocado oil. The smell reminds me of holidays and it creates such a lovely cool feeling to your skin. Of course, having sunburnt on my back, I need someone else to massage this in to it. It dries well, especially because it is rather thick.

In the evening of the day I got the sunburnt it was so sore and I just had to use this because it’s an amazing face cream for dry skin. This cooled it down so well and it soothed it for quite a long time before I could feel it as sore again. Of course, it being a face cream, I wouldn’t normally recommend this to use for sunburn BUT if you do use this normally and then get sunburn, it’s really helpful :) It’s normally £4.19 from Boots but at the moment its £2.93*

This was in one of my Monthly Birchbox boxes- Link to review is down below. This was used on my burn because I was getting through my nivea pot quite quickly…It has moisturising and hydrating properties in it which is fantastic for sunburn. As it’s a spray (like deodorant) the mist sits nicely on your skin and it cools the burn down a lot. It dries well on the skin and it doesnt drip down at all. It costs £16 which is maybe quite a lot but if you are a Birchbox subscriber and you don’t know what to use this for…its a God send if you have sunburn!

I really like this after sun. It’s Boots own brand-So Boots exclusive and its sold for £4. I am allergic to Aloe Vera and my skin is quite sensitive when plant based ingredients are used so I try and avoid them. A few years ago I found it really difficult to find aftersun products that didnt contain Aloe…but now most Boots stores sell it, no matter big or small. It soothes my sunburn like no other product listed above, and it moisturises for a lot longer on my skin. I would 100% recommend this! It’s affordable and the tub is really big for the price!

Thank you so much for reading this blog! Stay safe in the sun and fingers crossed you won’t get burnt! Have an absolutely lovely week and I’ll see you very soon with another blog!

I’m currently vlogging this summer, so if you are looking for a new channel to watch then hop on over and catch up with me!

See you soon!
