Hi Phillip, your article is on spot! Misinformation on the internet is a danger to democracy. One of the biggest problems I see is that technology companies have marketed themselves as connecting the world, as bringing equality in everything and as being a place for freedom of information. The problem is that the average person believes this. When I talk with people about the filter bubble or how tech companies choose which information to show each person and can control peoples opinions and mind they think it’s a conspiracy and I am a crazy person. Tech companies are working too much on making technology like people instead of using technology to help people see the diverse information. If a person grows in an environment that teaches person x to hate person y. As of today, the tech industry will show person x results that will confirm the suspicions and hate to person y. There are simple solutions that can be implemented. For example, on the side of the page, they can show different results with different opinions about person y to person x. They can do it using a simple sentence “Hey Person X you should know they are 56M results that show different opinions check it out”

To bring solutions people first need to acknowledge that there is a problem. Today I think people do not what to acknowledge the problem including the tech industry. The tech companies won’t deal with it or confirm that it’s happening because they are too deep into believing their own filter bubble of “we make the world a better place”

I am very passionate about this problems. I am an entrepreneur and as one it’s one of my jobs to solve problems. Because people don’t want to acknowledge the problem at this point of time the solutions need to be very creative. I hope one of my projects will start solving the problem.
