Hustle + flow: Words from inspirational women.
I love listening to successful people talk about their journey — and even more so if they’re women. My struggles, pains and insecurities are embodied in these inspirational women who have overcome similar feelings and triumphed. One thing I’ve learned is success happens in the little things you do. It really is the day-to-day hustle that keeps the dream alive and werking.
My go-to dime-pieces for inspo:
Herstory: Hosted by Sophia Amoruso, the Founder of Nasty Gal, she interviews world-class girlbosses who have made their mark in creative, cultural, and business ventures to extract solid advice from the lessons they’ve learned along the way.
Herstory: Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg looks at why a smaller percentage of women than men reach the top of their professions — and offers 3 powerful pieces of advice to women aiming for the C-suite.
Herstory: Jamila Lyiscott is a “tri-tongued orator;” in her powerful spoken-word essay “Broken English,” she celebrates — and challenges — the three distinct flavors of English she speaks with her friends, in the classroom and with her parents. As she explores the complicated history and present-day identity that each language represents, she unpacks what it means to be “articulate.”
Herstory: This podcast showcases how creative people have made a living doing what they love! She pinpoints what strategies have been proven to turn passion into a profit, and interview successful creators from screenwriters, fashion designers, chefs, songwriters, directors, comedians, photographers, animators and more.
I want to know: how do you get (and stay) inspired?
