I used to…
Wheeze Wheeze Wheeze
Make fun….
Huff puff
Of these…
Gasp
People….
Yesterday, Krupa and I started our half marathon training journey. Based on our fist run, I think it will be good and challenging.
Things deduced
- It is much easer to make fun of people running while having a cocktail on the than be the person actually making a difference in their health and running. Shocking.
- We work at one of the best spots we can to start the training, our office is right next to the Embarcadero in San Francisco. The view from my desk is actually looks like something from a sitcom.
- This would be much easier as a montage. It would be great if a song could play, viewers could see shots of me running in different locations and at the end of the 4 minutes and 4 seconds (eye of the tiger, clearly) I would be fit.
I suppose, I should start at the beginning instead of jumping right in. My co worker and I said we would run a half marathon because a girl who we want to be our friend asked if we would. Also, a firefighter gives each runner a Tiffany’s necklace at the end. So, getting fit, a new awesome friend and firefighter clad with Tiffany’s seemed like good enough motivation to say yes, we’ll run a marathon.
Getting through day one was easier than expected. We walked and jogged three miles. I definitely need a new pair of shoes if I am going to do this right. I don’t think my beat up cross trainers are up to the challenge.
I think it is time to get my body moving and shaking again. Half Marathon, here I come. I have my sights set on you. *Points toward eyes points in the general direction I think the run starts — repeats. *
