The esteemed Cannes Film Festival is back! This year, the annual film lover paradise — which is also known as one of the most glamorous and star-studded festivals in the world — featured an eclectic mix of new films to take in, including Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Perez (starring Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldana) and Yorgos Lanthimos’s Kinds of Kindness (with Emma Stone, Hunter Schafer, and Margaret Qualley). While we will have to wait to experience these film cinematically, there is great news as serving on the jury are even more A-listers — including actors like Eva Green and Lily Gladstone ( who I have become a stan of right fully so with her curated choices of stories she chooses to be a part of, at the moment I am watching Under the Bridge streaming on Disney+ Hotstar for international viewers), and director Greta Gerwig who gave us Barbie, to name a few.

The Cannes red carpet premieres and screenings are a spectacle to behold: the festival has a long history of producing memorable fashion moments and this year it was no different, while there were a lot of flops, there were a handful of clean, elegant and extravagant fashion moments that caught my eye.

Look : Hunter Schafer

Hunter Schafer

The fashion girlie ( transwoman are women, period) stunned in an electric blue organza floor length gown by Giorgio Armani at the Kinds of Kindness film premiere at Cannes red carpet. The blue sapphire jewels matching her lumincent by Chopard.

Look: Marina Ruy Barbosa

Marina Ruy Barbosa

The Brazilian beauty ( although she isn’t natural tan, I really don’t know who she is) makes a statement in the artistry of couture with our silk glass organza gown in the beautiful @marinaruybarbosa, where gathered fabric hugs her waist in beautifully and voluminous handcrafted drapes float effortlessly. The light reflects on from the fabric as she loves adding a dramatic factor to the flowing dress in classic Miss Sohee signature fashion.

Look : Han So Hee

Han So Hee would have been first on my list given the fan I am of her talent on screen especially in the hit show : My Name and in Jungkook music video as his love interest. While Han So Hee was invited as a brand ambassador for the French luxury jewelry brand Boucheron and attended the event, the stylist and her team could have at least made an effort fashion wise to pull pieces other than this tired Dior piece that is suitable for a casual outing in the garden that match her calibre of talent. Underwhelming gown with the jewels and the hair accessory being the only saving grace of this debut that could have broken the internet if the stylist wasn’t so lousy. Its so bad, even the hairstyle doesn’t match the styling of the ensemble, here are some alternatives she could have worn that would have made a bigger statement and celebrated her Korean roots. Just because the designer is a red carpet frequent filer, doesn’t mean laziness is allowed especially on Korean talent. The placement is a fail.

Alternate Looks from Korean Designers that specializes in Couture:

The first gown is by a Couture designer based in Seoul, South Korea and the second look is Miss Sohee, the OG queen of flashy couture.

Look : Eva Green

Eva Green hit the step and repeat in a structured butterfly silhouette Vivienne Westwood look with dark sultry red lip and smokey eyes and peep toe heels.
