The point is acting like the US is the only nation to have made mistakes, or have had ulterior motives for actions they took is disingenuous and distorts history.

We are simply one of the few nations that allows questioning of its motives and actions both internally and externally. When was the last time serious questions were raised over the plight of the Chinese Uighurs, the Malaysian Rohingya, the European Roma community, the Dalit of India, the Kurds of Iran, the asiatic people of Russia, and the Indigenous people’s of Brazil. They are forgotten sufferers because news of their plight is either outright forbidden, limited by intentional isolation, or deemed to politically sensitive to be brought up.

Yet, all of our historic atrocities, political missteps, and current mistakes are open for judgement and critique. That’s the distortion our open information system and freedom of speech results in.
