Love the article and the fact that you taught a class, awesome. One little comment, if I may? May I? I heard a “you may” from the cosmic soup of which we are all a noodle.
Why write for the sake of others? Many writers died stone cold dead never having been popular or “in” or Vonnegut-like or Theroux-like or Shelley-like or Rand-like.
The only reason to write is because there’s no way not to, like breathing. The reason those formerly mentioned folks and tons of others are good writers is because they don’t give half a hair on rat’s hairy ass who likes and dislikes what they write. Much love.
