Mentorship

Teacher Mentorship programs would drastically help to support new teachers. Setting teachers up with a one-on-one teacher mentor, provides new teachers with the tools and experience to be able to go through the first year smoothly.

My mentor, who was also the department coordinator, was always available if I had any questions, or needed advice on dealing with student issues. Pedagogically, the exchange of ideas with a mentor also gives teachers the space and time to reflect with a like-minded individual.
