This is a great piece on the trap of “story-driven” journalism. A story has a conflict; the news doesn’t necessarily. So if GOP folk break ranks, does that conform to the “story” that people are likely to consume? I think you’re saying it doesn’t. Maybe echo chambers are the reason? Or maybe it’s just us?
