Sharing my passion as Faculty Chair, Digital Analytics at SimpliLearn / Market Motive
A few weeks ago I announced I was one of the few Google Product Strategy Experts. Coincidentally, around the same time, I was engaged in a conversation with SimpliLearn, one of the world’s leading certification training provider. They inquired if I was willing to review, develop and extend their digital analytics online course curriculum.
In our field, most people are aware of Market Motive, the highly esteemed online courses lectured by the like of Avinash Kaushik, Bryan Eisenberg and Matt Bailey. Market Motive was founded by Michael Stebbins, John Marshall and Avinash in 2007, and acquired by SimpliLearn in June of 2015.
When I was contacted by Michael I first wanted to make sure I understood the scope of work and the role I would play. After all, Avinash is the Faculty Chair for Web Analytics and his reputation precedes him. Naturally, I turned to Avinash and Bryan and asked for their trusted opinion — I should mention both of them have been “angel advisors” ever since I created WASP in 2006!

I’m thrilled to announce I have accepted the role of Faculty Chair, Digital Analytics, SimpliLearn and have already started working on new versions of the excellent courses Avinash have offered to hundreds of analysts over the years. Rest assured I will continue to do consulting, speaking, advisory for agencies and startups, teach at ULaval and share My Takes in my newsletter.
Here’s what Avinash said when the news was announced to a few trusted colleagues:
“I could not be more excited that Stephane is going to be the Faculty Chair for Analytics at SimpliLearn / Market Motive. He brings a rare combination of deep technical expertise combined with business knowledge that will ensure this lessons are strategic, actionable and insightful!”
- Avinash Kaushik
The first course I’m working on is the Digital Analytics Fundamentals, which is part of the Digital Marketing Certified Associate Training. Next will come the Advanced Digital Analytics course and eventually, other brand new ones.
This move is in line with my role as independent thought leader in the digital analytics industry. Strong of 25 years of experience in the online industry, recognized by the DAA as a thought leader, by Google as a Strategy Expert, international keynote speaker and teacher and with a proven track record of innovations, this is another demonstration of my passion for the field and my desire to continuously share and learn.
After all, my email signature once said “trapped in the infinite loop or learning” … that was nearly 30 years ago!
