Ray-Ban Stories

Glasses have become an important part of building the next computing platform. In partnership with eyewear brand Ray-Ban, Facebook has released their first-generation smart glasses and unlocks a new set of experience for people.

Features of Ray Ban stories

Ray Ban stories offers wearers the ability to capture photos and videos, listen to music or podcasts and take phone calls all while staying in the moment and without even taking out the phone. These ray ban frames are available on market from 9 September 2021 starting at $299 in selected stores in USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Italy, and Australia.

Utilizing the wearable tech

It’s easier than falling off a log to handle Ray ban Stories. With the push of a button on the side of the frame, you can activate the camera, a tap starts recording a video and a tap and hold takes a photo from the viewers perspective.

Touch Control

There is a power switch to turn off the glasses. You can’t take photos and videos or listen to music if the power switch is off, since the glasses are completely off. You can save up to 30 videos and 500 photos and will be kept encrypted on the glasses until you are ready to download them to the Facebook View companion app. Users will be able to share the captured content on Facebook and other Facebook-owned platforms, including Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger, as well as non-Facebook apps such as Twitter, Tik Tok and Snap Chat or you can just save them on your phone’s camera roll.

Privacy Concerns

LED light

As we all know that google glasses was a failure because of privacy concerns, these glasses were built with privacy in mind. There is a LED light on the front of the glasses so that people around you will know whether you are capturing or not. It lights up to let people know that the camera is on, which is more than what smartphones do but the question is how Facebook will realistically stop people from covering it since it can be easily covered over.
