The Job Search — Week 1
Having recently graduated the Flatiron School’s Full Stack Web Development Program, I was ready to fully begin the job hunt. While there were companies I wanted to immediately send applications into, as a newly minted Developer, networking would have to be my primary goal if I wanted to avail myself to such opportunities.
Having always been interested in start-ups and small-to-midsize companies I’ve found sites such as angel.co and betalist.com offer a great look at some very exciting opportunities in this space. Of course, once I’d come across an exciting opportunity I would take to LinkedIn to investigate if I might have an mutual connections at said company. While naturally, mutual connections at smaller companies can be rather elusive, I found myself pleasantly surprised in a number of cases. In fact, if you haven’t already I’d certainly recommend setting up an account at angel.co and exploring at it has to offer.
As always, I welcome any and all advice, whether it be your own, or something that’s worked for a colleague of yours; feel free to reach out to me at any time at email@example.com.
As for networking, I’m more than happy to connect, you can find me at:
