Osho writes that men have an inferiority complex because they ARE inferior to women and points out just how much a mother and wife in India has to accomplish in a day and just how the man couldn’t match this versatility and efficacy. Of course, I have to laugh, because I don’t really feel in a position to make this same statement, but it has been clear in my dealings with men throughout my life that they are definitely not capable of demonstrating superiority. So, maybe while we are technically equals, men in America have grown up in a bubble of comfort that comes with being placed artificially at the top of the heap. I feel that this has made them lazy and functionally-crippled in many ways. It’s not that I think that they are not capable of more, but that they don’t believe that they need to even become capable of more. After all, the ‘king’ expects the minions to tolerate and accept them with all their flaws. The ‘king’ does not need to work at anything but simply being himself. It is the minions that must do all the adjusting and scrambling in order to please the king. If the king is not pleased, the king throws a tantrum or fires the minions. The king has no impetus to become a ‘better person.’ And, not to blame the unfortunates who have found themselves born into this situation, except to say that, well, i’m sorry but patriarchy wasn’t my idea. Get over it; figure it out. The harder you try to convince me that you know more than I, the more ridiculous you look.
