New Pantry in Bayview’s Asian Community Garden

We are delighted to announce that the Florence Fang Asian Community Garden (ACG) is one of the Food Bank’s newest pantry partners. On January 30th, community members gathered to celebrate the launch of the farmers’ market-style pantry, which is set against a lovely backdrop of ACG’s raised beds, native plants, and beautiful greenery.

Located on a one-acre plot in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood, the pantry at ACG serves 83 participants.

Johnny Chen, pantry coordinator and tireless community leader, has been involved with the garden since 2014. A fun fact about Johnny is that he has worked with the Food Bank’s Supplemental Food Program since 2009.

A Special Thank You to ACG sponsor: Asian Week Foundation
Opened in April 17, 2014, ACG was San Francisco’s first Asian community garden. ACG invites new immigrants to grow and share fresh produce, showcases Asian vegetables and herbs, and promotes healthy living.”
