San Francisco Transit Riders Support Scott Wiener’s “Subway Master Plan”

The $4.5 billion Transbay Transit Center will be completed in 2017.

Our organization asks each supervisor and the Mayor to support the Subway Master Plan, and, importantly, for our entire city to adopt the “forward-thinking, aggressive, can-do attitude” Supervisor Wiener suggested on Medium.

San Francisco is a world-class city, we deserve fast and reliable public transit. Thousands of people move here every year and our gridlocked streets clearly can’t handle more cars.

“Our city struggles with the slowest transit system in the nation because our trains and buses are bursting at the seams and must navigate the same clogged streets as everyone else,” said Andy Bosselman. “Yet San Francisco’s small footprint and high population density make it ideal for more subways.”

“Considering how long our city has hobbled along with a slow, neglected, and under-funded transit system, a bold and visionary plan for transit is long overdue,” he said. “This is an opportunity for elected officials to show leadership. Every one of them should take it.”
