Do you give your underarms what they need? Find out here.

So, you think your underarms look great and flawless against your bathroom lights. But, when you go out, it seems that the magic is gone. This simply means that what you are doing right now may not be enough.

In this article, we’ve collected some of the things that your underarms need.

Rest from Antiperspirants

Like any part of our body, our underarms need rest. Yes! Antiperspirants and deodorants will keep you smelling fresh and free from sweat. But, your underarms need a breather too. If you’re not going out for the day, why not leave your underarms as it is.

Let it sweat, even with a bit of smell. This is the sign that bacterias and toxins are getting flushed out of the body. The odor means that your underarms have germs and bacteria in them and should be washed more thoroughly.

Wash Before Sleep

Busy days often result in sweaty and smelly armpits. Even if your antiperspirant handled it well, you should still wash it off before you sleep. Some underarm products have residues after use. Washing should take them off of your skin.

Another good thing about washing before sleep is that your armpits will have the chance to rest on its own.

Choose the Right Deodorant or Antiperspirant

Because they are advertised on TV doesn’t mean that they are the best product out there. Marketing is different with actual recommendations and word of mouth. If you can go for natural products, prioritize them.

Generic underarm products often contain alcohol or aluminum salts to stop and control the sweating. These ingredients have the risk of irritating your skin. If you’re just at home, you can use an underarm whitening cream.

Remove Hair Properly

Did your genes make your armpits hairy? You can choose any hair removal method that you want. Just make sure that you are doing the preparation and post-care properly. No matter how effective your hair removal method is, if it is not done right, it will cause issues in the long run.

Your underarms need the utmost care if you’re dealing with hair growth.

It Needs Moisturizing

The skin around the underarm area is actually just a thin layer. This makes it one of the most sensitive parts of your body. When you undergo hair removal, a thin layer of the skin gets shed off, making the underarm more sensitive.

Make sure to moisturize it afterward. If not, let it rest on its own. Don’t use any products at all, so it can recover moisture on its own.
