Lloyds strike set to escalate

Lloyds Pharmacy workers are set to escalate their industrial action in a dispute concerning union recognition at the retail chain with strike action scheduled to take place for two successive days in September, three in October and four days in November.

In a letter to Lloyds management, the General Secretary of Mandate, John Douglas, said: “It is regretful that Lloyds management has totally ignored the genuine offers to meet over the last eight weeks.

“The continued refusal by Lloyds to engage in any effort to resolve this dispute is causing unnecessary inconvenience, distress and hardship to your customers and patients, something which we have sought to avoid from the outset.”
