The Knights of Degen and @JoeCandy have the blessed our community by hosting their second Swoops tournament. The first tournament had a 16-team field and ultimately saw Unchained Web take down the North Side 416ers to take home the championship (there was also a bracket challenge so those who were not competing could still be involved). This time around, the field has been expanded to 32 teams, and the top 8 seeds were determined by separating out the teams with the best win percentages.

To complete the matchups, GMs of each team communicate to establish lobbies to enter and complete a best-of-seven game series, with the winner advancing to the next round.

The North Side 416ers are the 1-seed for the Automation Alley region, joined by the Knights of Degen as the 2-seed.

The Blockchain Burners are the 1-seed for the Electric Evolution region, joined by the Metacourt Miners as the 2-seed.

The Pirates are the 1-seed for the Droid Division region, and the Star Gods are the 2-seed.

Unchained Web is the final 1-seed in the Marvel Machines region, and the Knight Jays are the 2-seed.

You can see the entire bracket below (love the graphic by the Swoops team!).

The rest of the field was randomly selected during a live Twitch stream by @AnnyongNewman using a picker wheel.

The tournament kicked off earlier and already saw the AI North 67s and Chef’s Kitchen go the distance and reach game 7, the Metacourt Miners and Nothing But Network also needed 7, as did the Knights of Degen and Kirchoff’s Electric Society, and the Star Gods and Hebrew Hot Wallets went 6 games. I don’t want to spoil the results in case you want to watch!

Here are the links to the AI North 67s versus Chef’s Kitchen:

Game 1, Game 2, Game 3, Game 4, Game 5, Game 6, & Game 7

These community-led tournaments have already brought so much excitement, but they are ultimately precursors of what we will see with the first Swoops-hosted tournament, the Swooper Bowl, which will feature $5,000 in prizes and will see payouts to each of the 64 teams in the field.

Thanks to recent updates by the Swoops Engineering Team, the viewing experience is now complete with live updating box scores that correspond with a live gamecast that can be watched — the overall gameplay product continues to evolve and improve day by day!
