Because you’re an awesome person with awesome friends, you’ve decided to throw a party. Hooray!

And because you’re an awesome person with exquisite taste, you’ve decided to make it a Munchkin party. Hooray again!

Wanting to throw a Munchkin party and knowing how to throw a Munchkin party are two different things, however. Here are some ideas for ways to make your party a success. Some are . . . better . . . than others.

Pretty balloons are a must.
  • Variety! If you have several Munchkin games, let people choose which table to join. Encourage them to try a version they’ve never played before!
  • Quick games! Put a time limit of one hour on each game session. You don’t want people standing around waiting for Those Friends at That Table to finish their three-hour marathon game. We also suggest tables of no more than four players; we’ve found with fewer people, the games tend to move more quickly.
  • Munchkin PUNCHkin! Make your favorite punch recipe — ours is “poke holes in the can and pour” — and when people ask if the punch is spiked, tell them, “No, it’s Munchkin Punch, so it’s Spyked!” Finger guns are mandatory. For extra credit, float a Flower in the bowl.
  • Add the Munchkin Party Pack to your games! This cool mini-expansion gives you 30 cards to show your guests a good time. Half of the cards are meant to be shuffled into a Munchkin game; the other half are promos meant to be handed out as party favors. Or keep some for yourself — we’ll never tell!

  • We have a lot of Munchkin mini-expansions for sale; they’re the perfect size for sticking into a stocking or leaving at a place setting at a fancy dinner. Shuffle them into your favorite Munchkin set and have a good time!
  • Got old Munchkin sets lying around? Turn the cards into fancy wall hangings, laminate them for unique place mats, or have a “pin the tail on the Gazebo” contest.
  • Have a “cover art look-alike” contest! Do your friends look like Spyke, Flower, Brother Skeeper, or one of our other iconic cover models? Now’s their chance to prove it! Bonus points if they don’t have to create costumes to pull this one off.

As long as everyone remembers to have fun, your Munchkin party will be a success. Post lots of pictures and use the hashtag #PlayMunchkin so our social media team will see them!
