I also share, endorse & agree with your thought process about Indian trains since I have been traveling by train since I was 2 years old and I touched based every state, every state capital and most of the districts in Goa, in Maharashtra, in Tamil Nadu, in Kerala, in Karnataka, in Andhra, in Gujarath, in Rajasthan, etc.

Over & above I have special romance that is connected with Indian trains. I met wonderful,inspirational & enchanting Indians that changed my thinking, interpretation & perception about India and about Indians.
