Has your inner voice ever prompted you to do something that changed a life? One morning I was trying to decide to whom I should send a card. All of a sudden I realized the pianist at church has been doing her job for years. I decided to send her a thank you card.
Several weeks later I ran into this lady. She said that she had been contemplating quitting her job with the church. She had finally decided to do it. That morning she picked up the phone to call the church to tell them she was quitting. As she did, she looked out the window and saw the mail truck go by. She put the phone down and decided to go get the mail. My card was the only piece of mail she got that day.
She sat down and looked at my message thanking her for all the years she had so faithfully provided the music for our church. She began to cry and decided right then that this was the most important job she could ever have. She thanked me for taking the time to say thank you. It was such a small thing to do but had such a powerful impact. I wonder how many times she has reread that simple thank you card she found in her mailbox that day.
