Kate Summerscale is an award winning nonfiction writer who often focuses on true crime: she’s one of my favorite writers for exploring the nuance of cluster b families. Though she doesn’t ever name the disorders within the families she writes about, she’s very often writing about obvious sociopaths, and she meticulously traces the dark, hidden toxicity within the psychology of deeply disturbed people.
