Today we’re celebrating another milestone as we begin the STK Crypto Beta, integrating cryptocurrency payment functionality into the STACK app, enabling instant cryptocurrency payments at point of sale.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE IN ‘CRYPTO BETA?’
Crypto Beta means we are testing out the functions we have built and are now testing the features we’ve been working on over the last few months, including:
- Off-chain transactions, enabling real-time liquidity
- Integration with the STACK fiat wallet
- The ability to convert crypto into CAD into a spendable wallet.
- Payment channel creation and implementation
- The ability to load STK tokens into payment channels
- The ability to conduct real-world POS transactions

One feature you’ll see in our Crypto Beta demo is the ability to instantly convert STK tokens into Canadian dollars prior to your purchase. This gives users the flexibility to convert cryptocurrency at the most opportune time, capitalizing on market upswings in real-time and avoiding market volatility. This means you’ll have the comfort of knowing how much you can spend at point of sale.
Within the next several weeks, STK subscribers will receive an email providing an opportunity to register to participate in the STK Crypto Beta program. You must be a Canadian resident over the age of 19 to participate.
As new features are added and tested, the interface and UX will continue to refine itself as testing is completed and features are fully embedded into the app. If you participate in the Crypto Beta program, you can expect to receive regular updates to the app with improved features and functionality. We will keep evolving our design and product based on beta results and community feedback.
