Something unusual happened to me yesterday. Actually, for me it wasn’t just unusual — it was a first. I was made an offer I couldn’t refuse. Or at least that’s what the top people at the National Enquirer thought. I’m glad they thought that, because it emboldened them to put it all in…
You are right to call this interesting:
“the much-maligned Steele Dossier (the one with the golden showers in it) included the statement that Putin had offered Trump 19% of Rosneft if he became president and removed sanctions. The reason this is so interesting is that the dossier said this in July, and the sale didn’t happen…
Rich, it shouldn’t take a post like this for you (Upwork) to give someone special treatment. I know there are thousands of others like me that rely on your platform (most, far more than myself, for much larger %’s of their income). In some cases this can very literally mean the difference between putting food on the table and not.
That’s not so much a threat, as it is an eventuality. If a person with a trademark doesn’t do anything to protect it, they can lose it. The court can say “well, you never tried to protect it by involving lawyers, etc”, and then award it to someone else, if it comes to that. I think everything the Kik guys tried to do was very polite and reasonable.
I think Kiks request are perfectly within reason. They want to publish something on NPM that is related to their trademark. Azer could’ve just renamed his two tiny modules, Kik can’t reasonably rebrand their whole company.
Azer however responds as an angsty 16-year-old and with breaking god knows how many builds because he’s a dick.
All you did was show how childish you are. You’re not going to come out on top at github either . . . seeing as there’s and entire page dedicated to informing users that they comply with copyright holders. I suggest you grow up, change the name of your module, and enjoy life as an adult.
